Counselling for Life Transitions in Victoria, BC

Bilingual support in English or French, in person in Victoria or online across British Columbia.

Some changes arrive suddenly; others build up slowly until one day life no longer looks the way it used to. Either way, a transition can leave you between two chapters: the old one is over, and the new one is not clear yet.

Transitions people often bring to counselling

  • Career — a new direction, a job loss, burnout, or questioning work you once loved.
  • Retirement — more freedom, and often less structure, status and connection.
  • Relationships — a separation, a new partnership, or a family that is changing shape.
  • Loss and grief — the death of someone close, or the loss of a future you had counted on.
  • Health — an illness, an injury, or changes in what your body can do.
  • Identity and meaning — questions about who you are, what matters, and where you belong.
  • A move — to a new city, province or country (see also counselling for newcomers and immigrants).

What it can feel like

Tired without knowing why. Restless, or stuck. Less sure of decisions that used to be easy. Grieving something, even when the change was wanted. These are common signs that something important is reorganizing inside, not signs that something is wrong with you.

How counselling can help

Counselling gives you a dedicated time and place to slow down and look at what is happening. Together, we can:

  • name what is ending, and what it meant to you
  • make room for the uncertainty in between, without rushing to fill it
  • notice the strengths and resources you already have
  • clarify what matters now, and what you want the next chapter to hold
  • take concrete next steps, at a pace that fits you

The question is not only how to get through the change, but what it is asking you to become.
